The Pack is the Section of the Group for ages between 6 1/2 and 11, therefore it is the youngest section of our group.
The Pack currently has around 20 members attending regularly to meetings, which are organised by their leaders every Saturday at our HQ between 8:30 and 10:30. The cubs are divided in groups, called sixes, led by their Sixer and seconded by his Second-Sixer.
Some of the activities/games that are organised include: environmental walks, treasure hunts, nature hikes, sleepovers, cook outs, night hikes, camps, community work, cooking and much more. From time to time, family activites are also organised.
The main aim of these activities/games is that we instil in the cub entrusted in our care: COPING SKILL that will help him/her through life while PERSONAL & SOCIAL skills that will both enrich and help him/her to become a better citizen.
The Scouting Programme for the Pack is split into three main parts, the Bronze, Silver and Gold Arrows. Each Arrow is then split into three more parts, each having a symbol of one of the animals that take part in the Jungle Book. There are also proficiency badges that appeal to specific likes.
We also follow the Cubs Book, which serves as a set of guidelines for all the Cubs' sections of the Scout groups in Malta and Gozo. Through these instructions, the cubs start to understand what real Scouting is all about....he/she becomes aware gradually that being a good cub scout means being responsible, reliable, committed, trusted and accountable for your actions.
